Casterton is once again hosting a Glenelg Veterans golf competition as part of our spring tournament.

Format: 18 Hole Stableford – Must be a member of the Glenelg Veterans to play.

Tuesday – 4Ball Stableford

Tuesday is our 4ball Best Ball Stableford Event. In 2-Player teams, each player tees plays their respective hole, the best Stableford score of the player on that team is recorded on the card. if the score is the same. the first player who holed out is recorded.

Thursday – 2 Person Ambrose

Groups of two players work as a team. Each player hits off the tee, the best shot is selected and all other players pick up their ball and place it on the fairway and drop in the rough/bunker/penalty area, within one club length, alongside the best ball. Each person then hits a second shot from the same spot. The best shot is again selected. This continues until the ball is in the hole. On the putting green the best ball is marked and the other balls are played from this position.

Conditions: Each team player must have a minimum of 6 drives.

Friday – 9 Hole Competition

9 Hole, Stroke Competition – played on the Front 9.

Saturday – Mixed Pinehurst

Here’s how Pinehurst works. It’s a two-person team format, and every hole begins with both players on a side playing drives. The two partners walk forward to the golf balls, then they switch golf balls. Golfer A hits Golfer B’s ball, from where B’s drive came to rest. And Golfer B plays Golfer A’s ball, from A’s drive came to rest.

After their second shots, the partners compare the results. Which golf ball is in the best position? They select that ball and pick up the other.

From the third stroke on, they play alternate shot until the ball is holed.

And that’s Pinehurst: Hit drives, switch balls for the second strokes, pick up the worse of the balls after the second stroke, play alternate shot into the hole from there.
