With the First round of 2019 and the weather cooler but some showers expected there were 28 Players who took cards out for the Stableford Round, the course still holding well and giving a little bit of run for the players.
Winner of the day Ewan Herring with a great round and 43 points of a handicap of 19, also heard that he did very well with the units as well. Runner up with a fine 41 Points off a 14 handicap Paddy Hegarty, good day for the Irish.
Ball run for the day, Adam Waters 40 points, Greg Fry 39 points, Pete Hutchins 38 points, Noel Fitzgerald 37 points, Kevin Etherton, Gary Hegarty, Brain Leak and B. Stonill all with 36 points.
Nearest the Pins . 2nd Ian Ross, 8th Greg Fry, 13th James Ross and 17 John Mathews. 2nd Shot on the 9th Roy McCallum.
Players will have noticed that nature has added another hazard to the 8th hole, with one of the large pine trees falling over about half way to the hole, apparently all players except one was able to play over the tree, in fact I understand that the payer hit the tree twice, although he did finish with a 4 on the hole.
Next week Stableford sponsored by Bruce McKenzie.
